Dish TV - Will they lead DTH market?

We all know that this year we are watching big changes in Indian DTH industry. This year we witness two newly DTH service provider and we know their brand name in other market. Those are Reliance’s BIG TV and Airtel’s Digital TV. Both are coming with latest technology and MPEG4 transmission which gives them an edge of exciting DTH Company Dish TV and Tatasky. Sun DTH is also using MEPG4 technology and got a huge response from South Indian markets. This updating process will continue as India’s 6th private DTH Company Videocon is also coming in December end and there is strong news coming that they are making Set Top Boxes in India which makes them cheaper in terms of entry cost.

In second words, we can say that DTH war is on and now it is a big problem for Indian DTH leader Dish TV and no.2 player Tata sky as they have limited transponders and have older MEPG2 technology which is a disadvantage of them. It will be a weakest time for those two exciting DTH players and BIG TV’s launch rang the warning alarm and now BIG TV already cross 5 lakh connections. It will be more problem for leader Dish TV.

Dish TV have biggest problem of funding and they are trying to get funds to execute their plans and cover the costing to acquire new customers. They are offering new connection by doing losses and it will be very difficult for them to do this. They are selling some 5% to 10% stocks in market to get funds and upgrade their systems. One bigger problem for them is having worst customer care services and picture quality. We know that many Dish TV users have complained against their call centers and about picture quality which is not looking like DVD type picture quality.

Many customers complained about missing popular channels on Dish TV. They recently added 9X, NDTV Imagine and Colors after few months of launch but one channel which Dish TV users wants right now is Neo Cricket and missing on India’s leading DTH service provided will be big disadvantage for them as Neo Cricket is available on BIG TV, Airtel Digital TV and Tatasky. Because of this there are 40, 00,000 customers are missing ongoing Australian test series and also miss upcoming England’s series. This will impact on their future as many Dish TV users are moving to other DTH who have more quality channels then Dish TV.

Bindass
Bindass Movies
UTV movies
World Movies
UTVi
Firangi
Headlines Today
Neo Sports
NDTV Goodtimes and others.

Our experience suggests that Dish TV will not lead Indian DTH within next 8 months. If they not working on basic things then it will be difficult for them to stay as leader. BIG TV will take the leadership within 1 years.
